HI all,
Haven't posted lately and just thought I'd pop in to say "Hi."
Our biggest news is that we found a place to keep the Vista that's only 5 miles (if that) from home. We can leave, get the RV and be back in less than 20 minutes. Still not as good as having it right here would be, but oh so much better. It used to take us 35-45 minutes just to get to it before.
With it closer, we've found we'll go get it, bring it home and piddle around - adjusting this, rearranging that - while we run the generator to keep it exercised.
We're headed out for a month on Sept. 5th to Maine and the Canadian Maritimes. We have friends in Maine who want us to come up before they head back down here for the winter. So we brought the Vista home a few days ago and totally emptied the under storage. Using some ideas I'd read about elsewhere, we figured out how to load them more efficiently.
Used velco strapping to hang the Genturi from the "ceiling" of the rear compartment. Already had our folding ladder hung up there. Used more velcro to hold our electric road flares and cyclops tire pressure gauge in place on the compartment-side ledge of that floor under the bedroom closet. Keeps them handy for easy access. The Vista is back at storage right now, but we'll be bringing it home late next week and I'll try to remember to take some pix. (Then I'll try to remember how to post them. ;) )
Moved some things from compartments on one side to those on the other simply because we've learned what we need easiest access to. Some things we decided we can do without.
Took the time to read through this thread again and found some things we'd meant to do, but had run of out time for before our trip last fall and then forgot about once we got back. Hope to get some of them done before we leave.
Hope everyone is having safe travels and still enjoying their 30 Ws and Ts and 33 C.
