2011 Winnebago Itasca Sunova water pump location

My manual states the water pump location is under the bed. When I lift the mattress and look through the inspection hole that leads to the fresh water tank and valve I see a wooden box that appears to house the pump.

Second question: the wooden box does not appear to move. So how do you access the pump? The reason I ask is because I want to inspect the pumps strainer bowl. If this is where the pump is at is there an easy way to access the pump? If not it's a crappy design.

  • Mystery solved. The wooden box that houses the pump has a lid that comes right off which allows you to access the pump and the strainer bowl. The picture shows the strainer bowl. Looks pretty clean to me which is no surprise because we always filter our water.
  • Yes, in that box. I have a 35J. I no longer have the box. No difference in noise level and easier to see if a leak develops.

Just go to the resources section of the Winnebago website and look at the plumbing diagram.

Edit: Looking at the diagrams, you must have a 35J, yes, it's under the bed, by the water tank drain.

Thank you very much. The diagrams confirmed my suspicions. The pump is located under the wooden box under the bed. I'll have to unscrew the boards supporting the mattress and then figure out how to remove the box covering the pump.

Unfortunately that's the truth. And the manuals are so generic they seldom give you the exact info you need.

IF pump runs..turn it on and open a faucet.
Then hunt down pump location from noise it makes

If pump doesn't run........it most likely is in/around/near fresh water tank
and could be in that box.

I actually did that and that's what makes me think it's located in the box. I think the only way to get into that box is to remove the mattress and unscrew the plywood that supports the mattress. After that I'm not exactly sure how to access the pump inside the box as it appears to be fastened to the floor beneath the bed.
