I don't know about the Ford torgshift in your motor home, but when I am in tow/haul with the torgshift trannie in my truck I have to be careful as the engine will definately overspeed when the trannie down shifts aggressively. Lots of times I have had to take the trannie out of tow/haul to prevent going past red line in RPM's
Same thing happens with my class A motorhome when going down a steep grade. It doesn't actually "red-line", (there is no red-line marker on the tach), but it revs up to about 4500 to 5000 rpm. I'm not comfortable with that, so I disengage the tow-haul mode to bring the rpm back down.
So is 4500 to 5000 rpm normal in this situation?
