2012 forest river Solera emergency start switch

Friends have the above MH. And don't know location of emerg. Start switch. The unit is diesel with a propane powered gen. Dual 12V house batteries. I saw the solenoid mounted just inside the entry door in a compartment with converter , fuses etc. Didn't get a look around the cab but must assume the switch would be within reach of the driver. They,ve had this unit for a while.. Unaware of the emerg start feature.. On a previous MH of mine the switch was mounted above and behind the drivers head just at the upper rear corner of the door. Anyone with one of these Soleras?? Help, please. Thax.

  • If the RV has the feature there will be a push button on the dash board where it can be pressed at the same time as the key is being turned to start the engine, check the engine compartment, there will be another thick cable with a big fuse going to the positive on the battery the other red cable goes to the starter motor.

  • I'm sure about no switch. Mine is (or was -I've had it for almost 2 years)) new, but a cheap one (relatively speaking :B).

My solenoid I assume, is either for the house battery disconnect, or the charge solenoid which charges the house battery when the engine is running. There is no provision to use the house battery to aid the engine battery.

Mitch are u sure abt no switch? thought all have that now & yours is new it should be there
  • look for a push button by steering wheel as u have to push at same time as cranking
  • All the equipment in the compartment was factory labeled --- l believe the solenoid was labeled "em. Start" .. I'm on my 4th MH and all 4 have had the emerg start feature ... Not saying ALL have it.
