Will, I'm going to have to disagree with 1775. I have seen temps here, and Calif. that unless he has a magical AC, there is no way a Rt AC would cool the van. Big difference between NY and AZ, or parts of Calif.
Try driving all day on pavement that will almost melt your tires, with night time lows in the 80's to 90's with inside van temps of 125 degrees when you come back from dinner, the inside wheel wells so hot you could cook on them.
