The problem is at some point the outside air leaks into the Van, and an 11,000 BTU AC can only do so much. Thats why I made the statement that 20 degrees below outside ambient temp is about the best that can be expected. It really depends on how hot the air is that is leaking into the Van. Thats why opening the hood is a good idea, just remember to disconnect the hood light. Also, close all windows, vents, and any other place air will leak inside.
Class B's are probably the worst for leaking air, and there is only so much that can be done.
So what ever one can do to cool down the Van will allow the inside to cool faster, but only so much can be done to keep the outside air from getting in.
