Sounds like it's working as designed. If the charger turns off the battery voltage can/will drop some for the lights. If the inverter voltage is within spec it's OK. Also the inverter voltage may be higher than shore power in some CGs.
If it were me I'd likely remove the ignition wire from the inverter. We don't automatically and rarely run the inverter when driving.
