I sure wish my new F350 CC Dually had a tighter turning radius. My F250 SCSB was a lot easier to back the fifth wheel into tighter spaces with. Unfortunately it didn't have the weight capacity.

Here are the actual loaded weights of my 3950. Your 3905 should be very close.

I have to tow without much water because I would be over GVWR on the trailer.

Only real regret I have in my setup is the 20K Reese hitch - it's too light for this rig.

yes the 25k hitch is the reese elite were talking about. the price with ford is about the same as youll find online or at a camper store so i would just order through them if your going to be ordering the truck.

Thanks Everyone for the advice, After looking a bit closer into the F350 Dully options ,I now see where they offer a 25k hitch, would this be the Reese hitch some of you are talking about? or is it another Reese hitch sold else where. It looks like I will be fine with a 350 over the 450 just seems odd to me that the payload doesn't go up with the 450 and only max tow goes up, I think because of the gearing... However seems to me f350 and 450 are the same truck.
I may be wrong and it would not be the first time...:)

Anyway wont beat a dead horse...Going with the F350 dully KR version 4x4 pretty much loaded as it looks everything comes with it.

Oh by the way I also see they offer some kind of pre heater for the truck, never had a diesel before and don't want everyone being cold. Any thoughts?

F350 Dually will work just fine with that trailer.
Get the factory 5th wheel prep and then get a good 5th wheel hitch, like the Reese or B&W.

Seems to me the only real difference is the gearing in the 450 to 4:30 Which really must eat the gas towing and just running around...

Ive read where its going to be about a 2mpg difference between the F350 and F450 when empty. The 350 will do fine pulling the camper. The reese hitch is a little pricey but it installs in secs and easy to use. B&W makes one that fits in the 5th wheel prep too but i liked the idea of having a single jaw instead of a double one.

I tow a Raptor 4014 with 2012 Ford F350 DRW with the factory 5th wheel package with the Reese 25k hitch and the truck tows it great.

That trailer has a GVWR of 19,000#

You need a BIG truck and a 20K hitch at minimum.

Dry hitch weight is almost 3300# so figure it will get closer to 3800# when loaded up ready to go camping.

That means you need a truck that has at least 4000# of payload capacity AFTER the truck is full of people and stuff. Truck RAWR AND rear tire load capacity also needs to be high enough to handle that pin weight.
