Gotcha. Many like mine are the opposite - I can't use my slides with ign on. Maybe, when you turn on the ign it switches back over from the shore power to eng alt as the supply. Mine does that, and if I start it - engine running - sfter a second the lights get brighter due to the charge. I am pretty certain - be kind guys as I am no electrical guru - that all your lights are on 12V running on battery and it's simply a matter of whether it's shore power, gen or engine alternator that charges the system. hence the momentary drop while it switches to an uncharged system until the transfer is complete. But I could be way wrong or butchering that a little.
