The weight of our small class C is 10,380 pounds. If I could get under 10,000 pounds I could re-license to lighter weight and not have to carry chains. The chains are required to be carried for vehicles over 10,000 pounds in my state. Would love to provide lic place with a “cert scale weight” ticket under 10,000 pounds.
Any guesses as to what a spare (16 inch) and 2 batteries would weigh?
The tire chains have never put them on and I don’t have room in wheel well even if I had too. And I bet I’ve moved them 50 times.
Any guesses?
That weight does not include you or anything else you put into it.
It's not going to happen, unless you meant the Gross Weight was 10,380 lbs. What was the dry weigh (delivered)? At any rate the state will use the labeled weight.
I would call and check with them.
Yes, that was gross weight when I weight it. But above porter was kind enough to point out that my state goes by "Gross Weight Vehicle Rating" so doesn't matter how much under I get under 10,000. They go by GWVR, which is little over 15,000 I believe.
I drove truck in this state for 27 years and the only thing I was concerned about was under 80,000 gross and not over 12,500 on front steer and not over 34,500 on driver tires. So found out mute point on getting under 10,000 on RV. So I guess I'm struck with carrying chain around like it or not (to be legal).
