2015 Thor Vegas wall wet/leak?

The inside wall on passenger side below the window is always wet? Removed the inside frame and resealed all around. I think I've fixed problem. I've peeled back the wall paper to allow wood to dry. NOW, where and how do I get matching replacement wall paper?:h
  • Nice to see a follow through and posted conclusion on a thread. So many end without it.

I just had a leaky window and got it fixed up, but without the foil tape. I wish I had.
  • SUCCESS! I've gotten replacement wall paper and tape. Here's how. I called Thor at 877-855-2867. They were very nice and informed me they don't have replacement parts. in order to get anything I must call their supplier which is Total Value RV at 866-282-4460. The nice guy will ask for VIN #. He will direct you to JEN in the Parts Dept. which is who you want in the 1st place at 574-262-4460. Total Value RV Web page is PARTSS2@TOTALVALUERV.COM :B

  • The metal tape actually overlaps each side by about 1/4"

This was my front window which had 3 separate sections. I had to remove each individual glass and reseal with 3m glass sealant and replaced the window gasket too. There is a lot that can leak on one of these windows.
  • No, no pics I can find. Fully remove the window and frame. You are now looking at the raw wall opening. What you do is tape over the raw wall widow cut out opening so the tape overlaps over the the opening to the inside and outside. This prevents any water from leaking down into the wall if the exterior seal goes bad. If that doesn't help I will make a mock up and take pictures.

My RV (Thor) had grey putty tape for sealant. It appeared to have dissolved over the years. I removed the windows and used the black rubber type butyl instead. That stuff seems to last forever.
  • You need to pull out the window and seal the outside too. Place metal tape all along the opening to deflect water outside of the walls and not inside. Use black butyl not the grey stuff. Thor will be able to sell you the wall covering.
  • Unless you removed the window and actually sealed it correctly all you have done is force the water further inside the walls. You need to fix it right or not at all. As for fixing the mess you now have? Sand, prime and paint the walls.
