Not to hyjack this thread but I have a question for all you Newmar devotees. Looking at the Dutch Star in the 43' lengths. Spec sheet shows axle's as 17K steer, 20K drive, 10K tag. sounds like it ought have a GVWR of 47,000 lbs except it's listed as 44,600 lbs. Why?
Good question. Mine is 17,20,12...= 49k. I did some research, the dually axle itself is actually rated 25k, but is down graded due to the lowest rated component of the system. Maybe something in your system down grades it. Call Newmar. - time_to_go_nowExplorer

- Big_BaldyExplorerI'd be interested to know your thoughts after your test drive. 27% off MSRP is the best I've found on Newmar.
- Blaster_ManExplorerDon't pay MSRP.

Never understood paying more to pick up at the factory. You think it would be free. They don't have to deliver it.
THEY don't deliver it, the dealer pays for that part.
As to the OP, great choice. All the upgrades for '16 look awesome, Comfort Drive is a game changer. - EffyExplorer II

- DSDP_DonExplorerWhat's nice about Newmar is that you can pretty much special order whatever you want on a Dutch Star. The 2016 got a new slide system for the full wall slide. There were/are some issues on the previous year models moving a little in the opening. The 2016 now has their new "STAR" frame that reinforces the full wall slide. The new slide, slides all the way and then drops down. This allowed them to make the entire room all tile, including the slides.
They added an escape door to the rear bath and a steerable tag. One of the big selling points is Comfort Drive.
If you can swing it, pay the extra $2500.00 and take a factory delivery. You take delivery at the factory and get a tech to teach you about the coach and fix any issues for a week.
