- BillMFlExplorerWith a gasser the wall sticker inside the coach lists the model year of the coach and the Ford info lists the model year of the chassis. The MH title uses the model year of the coach.

X-2, I agree with this post, you have to check the VIN on the coach that you want to buy to see what year it is. I got a extra $20,000.00 off my coach due to this! I own a Winnebago the chassis is a 2003 and the coach is a 2004 my RV was completely finished off the product line January 15th 2004. So therefore Winnebago legally can register it as a 2004. When I buy chassis parts like shocks, I have to order 2003 model year shocks because Winnebago changed chassis in 2004. Any 2004 chassis parts will not fit my 2003 chassis. You asked a great question!
remember if its a MH the coach and the chassis could be two different years ,a lot of times the chassis is a year or two older than the coach. - Mr_Mark1ExplorerOur 2015 was started in March of 2014 with delivery in November of 2014. The 2016's are arriving now.
It takes a while to build these coaches so they start the manufacturing earlier.
MM. - bcbouyExplorermy 2015 is being built right now, however its exactly the same as a 2014 model, which is exactly the same as a 2013 model and its the same base price as a 2014.for the money you may save, you might as well buy new with the options you want.

Any idea when the 2016s hit the dealer lots?
Want to get an idea when to start hard negotiating on a 2015.
Thanks

I bet there are places with 2014's on the lot still. Could probably get a real good deal on those. - Carlos___RanaeExplorerTo quote a friend expression, "hockey puck". This is March 2015 and you are advertising 2016 model. Next thing will be a " I have a very cheap bridge for sale, I will take beads as payment".
- BillMFlExplorerWhen they change their production line over to what is going to be next years model they stop manufacturing the "old" model. I had ordered a 2011 model from the Georgetown factory in April of 2011 but when that model production line next ran they had started building 2012's so the coach I received was a year newer than the one I had ordered. It had some enhancements but I wasn't charged more. Automobile factories often change over early in order to make deliveries to dealers by fall. Its an advantage to buy a model as early as possible. Wholesale book values go down each quarter. If you by a 2016 RV in early 2015 it will hold value a little longer, but most folks don't trade in that soon anyway. Lucky me we decided to trade the 2012 that we bought in 2011 on a much bigger 2012 model in 2012. Didn't take a huge hit because the book stayed high.
- derouen6ExplorerTotally agree. But it is what it is.
- New Model years can come out anytime from Jan1 to Dec 31 of the year
So, you could have a 2016 come out anytime in the 2015 year. The chassis year has no bearing on the Motorhome year model. IF the OEM is coming out with a new model, they sometimes will introduce in the spring of the year instead of mid to late summer. They will not wait 6 months for the regular new model year introductions. That is why you sometimes see a new year model in the spring. Doug - EffyExplorer II

So funny... It's only March of 2015 and some 2016's are out. I mean is it a 2015 or 2016. RV's are not only fun for going on the road, but they are time machines.
I never understood it. Seems like every year it gets earlier and earlier. It almost seems illegal to call a vehicle manufactured in the current year to call it anything but the current year. I mean it's lying isn't it? Let alone 9 mos before the current year is even over. From a financial standpoint it's a bit of smoke and mirrors as they can claim they sold more units of a year, despite the fact it's really not that year but they call it that anyway. So, lying to promote more sales, longer sales and falsely inflate stock prices. Your warranty still expires based on when you bought it though. Heck if you bought a 16 now, you'd be out of warranty when it's only 3 mos old (03/16).
