A very simple question. I simply asked if anyone has a 15 or 16 Tour and are they having issues, and if so is Winnebago helpful. Rumors say they are going down hill on quality and customer service. The Tour we looked at was put together neat and tidy, well constructed.
I know all coaches have "start up " problems, but we are having major problems with our Tiffin, and have decided to try another coach. We Liked the Tour quality from what we observed after very closely inspecting, driving, and going over Tour in the shop with a mechanic at Lazy Days, so just wanted to know what others thought about the Tour. We had an Solei for several years with no major issues, Winnebago was easy to deal with when you could get them on the phone. We thought we wanted to go with a more expensive Tiffin that was supposedly to have good construction and no major issues.
Tiffin is working on it but after 6 months its getting very frustrating, so I have decided to move on.
I'm not bashing Tiffin, just stating facts. We only discovered these problems after we purchased and lived in it for awhile. The dealer continues to find other problems while repairing problems we discovered. The dealer has been very good on repairs and does a very good job. Our 44OH has been in and out of repair for 6 months. One of the main reasons we purchased the Tiffin was the quality, and reliability......sorry to bust someones bubble, but its not there, at least on the Phaeton 44OH. They have slide design problems and poor construction on the Phaeton 44OH. This is not a dealer problem it is a Tiffin problem.
Don't care about screws, nuts and bolts, ect, I repair all of the basic stuff, including wiring and plumbing myself. This coach keeps me very busy.
One of the major issues is, all the bay doors under the PS slide hit, scrape and some won't open completely. Tiffin...yes Tiffin, has been trying to figure out and repair for several months, they have tried numerous adjustments, new brackets top and bottom. Each time I go to pick up the coach, it occurs again. They are now talking about cutting 3/4 " off the bottom of the slide, and repainting the PS side of the coach.
Head light and tail light openings were cut too large, mounting screws do not hold because opening is too large. Tiffin tried to make a metal bracket to hold the headlight lens, bracket not holding, no way to secure the headlight and get proper light adjustment.
Interior light system switches not working on a couple of locations, Tiffin working on it, wiring problems somewhere in the coach.
Shower very slow draining or wont drain.
New type slide seals tearing on slides.
AquaHot system was improperly installed, there is no way to check the fluid or service the system. You have to crawl in from the opposite bay with a light to check the system.
Tag Axle dump switch missing, never installed, they had a blank plate in its place. Tiffin is checking to see if it is actually wired.
Shower door on solid service shower misaligned, having to reinforce shower wall to raise door.
Sewer smell in 1/2 bath. Poorly sealed at black water tank.
These issues are strictly from poor construction and/or poor design.
I'm sure Mr Tiffin won't be calling and offering us a properly constructed coach.
There is more..............later........
