2017 Dynamax Rev 24

I am thinking about getting this, is there any good or bad experience with this RV from Dynanax.
  • They put a lot of effort into streamlining where the cab and coach meet, but the sideways engine with front wheel drive is something I would not relish owning. Repairs would be a real pita. Get the diesel, and you get that stupid auto shifting "standard" transmission with a computer controlled clutch.

European coach builders put tandem rear axles on this chassis to add to the length and carrying capacity. Its a Fiat but also marketed as a Peugeot and Citroen

Transit is standard front engine, rear drive, with the reliable 6 speed transmission, the diesel is a proven design in the rest of the world.

If you can do a search...by that I mean succeed with a search...searching in RV.net doesn't work very well... Then there's a thread about a couple finding their REV was very limited. I get confused with Ducato, Promaster, and competing versions, so please understand this isn't an area where I'm sure fire certain of what I'm passing on. So far, it seems to me that even though we CAN do something, doesn't mean we SHOULD do it, and building a Class C on a Promaster looks like one of those. At least to me.

Then again, several us saw or met two young European ladies who'd shipped a small RV to the US for an extended visit to what I'll call The Continent. It "Might" have been one of those chassis. Some folks don't worry about the specs, they load up and go. And many seem to get away with it. Another search...hopefully successful...might turn something up about their RV. I just tried and no joy.

Just for me, something Ford Transit-Based looks better in something small and light.

Be very very careful about its carrying capacity. You may find it's overloaded, right out of the box. They add to the rear overhang without extending the wheelbase, and those single rear wheels don't have much capacity to begin with.
  • They looked a lot like Winnebago's Trend, except a tad lower in fit/finish. The dinette seats were definitely less comfortable than the Winnebago.

Not a bad unit, but I'd compare prices with the competition. The chassis is solid... the standard in Europe.
