25 Foot Class C for family of four

I think the 26 length is a good compromise. It's still small enough to travel without a toad and park in most places (only having to take 2 to 3 spots).

The next concern is making sure you set it up for winter camping. Since you want to use it to go skiing and snowboarding, you should look into insulating the undercarriage, insulating windows, etc.

I'd recommend at least a 27 foot Class C with rear bedroom and RV queen sized bed, maybe with a bedroom slide for access on both sides for adults. Kids can sleep on convertible sofa or dinette or in overhead bunk with safety gate to keep them from falling out when the are older. It's a PITA to get out of bed and back into bed for restroom visits in the dark without waking your partner. It's also difficult to make bed unless there is access on both sides. (Or) plan on buying a longer rig with a better rear bedroom setup in future.

This advice is absolutely right on. The dinette is not comfortable for sitting very long. I had a 22 with the corner bed. I removed the bed and put in a jack knife sofa for more sitting space. The only place to throw your junk is the overhead bunk, but then you need to move it to the floor to sleep up there. It was just not a comfortable scenario. Good luck with your decision.

We camped in a tent, then a small tent trailer and finally a very small truck camper until our 2 boys were 12 and 14. They loved it and never complained. We did always camp in the summer and the kids were outside all day. We even ate most of our meals outside. So I guess it is just what you are willing to accept.It really was "camping" not "RVing" and there is a BIG difference.

Do consider bringing some games and music the kids like in case your perfect weekend gets all day rain. Consider a portable child gate to block off a portion of the RV so the young one can safely move around in a secure space. Our young children started RVing early at 9 months, and now they are in their thirties, they still love RVing. Enjoy.

I think that is plenty at this stage of the game.

With a family I would seriously consider a suitable tow vehicle, such as an Surburban, Excursion, E250/2500 van, quad cab pickup, etc, to pull a travel trailer. Moving up is a matter of a larger trailer if you have properly oversized the tow vehicle with the expectation of buying larger trailers as the family grows..........

and your family safety is paramount, and with a good tow vehicle, you get properly designed seating/seatbelts, etc that are reasonably safe even in a serious accident. Even with seat belts, a couch or dinette seat in a motorhome is not the safest place for anyone, and it is really difficult to keep a good eye on small children when they are in the back and you are up front in a C class.

Just wondering how you can do those extra things with a six month old.
My kids are 8 and 5. Ive been skiing and snowboarding with the 8 year old. The five year old doesn't do anything. Refuses to bike, refuses 12 volt toys, forget about skiing ect. Two completely opposite children.
