295/80R22.5 Latest Tire Prices

For 16 ply 295 Michelins: List price $777, FMCA price $679 includes FET. Valve stems $7.50, Mount/dismount $21, Balancing $31, remove & install wheel $18, plus and state, county, city taxes. All of that is per tire. You dealer may have different labor costs.

We got 6 brand new Michelins this year through FMCA. 275/70R22.5. Including taxes, mounting, disposal, alignment, and balance, it was $4k. Your tires are bigger than mine, so it will be more, plus you have tag axle.

Instead of going back with 295's I put 315/80's on the front and 11 R 225 on the rear. 11R,s which are the same diameter as a 295 takes 10 psi more to carry the same load. The 315 takes aprox 10 psi less .pressures. I run 105 F , 100 drive, and 90 tag which is 5 over what. I need. I'm on the heavy side so doubt you would have to run more. I paid $400 for the Hankook,s 11R 18 months ago.

Toyo, Yokohama, Hankook...are some cheaper brands but a lot of people swear by them. Stay away from Goodyear G670s. Most of us agree that Michelins are probably the best you can get, but they're also the most expensive.

I would like to see some real evidence that Michelin tires are really better than other brands. My coach has Michelin XZA2 tires because that is what the dealer put on when we made the deal but I did not insist on them. On my previous coach, I went to a local TCI (Michelin) commercial tire dealer and the manager (whom I knew and trusted) suggested I consider Hankook AH-12's instead. I got those and they were excellent tires. I know Michelin makes a good tire but I just am not sure they are really that much better than a similar Bridgestone, Continental, Hankook or perhaps some others. Michelin certainly seems to spend a lot of money on advertising so maybe that explains their higher pricing.

So other than being popular with many folks, is there some real world evidence of Michelin's superiority to other brands?

To each his own, my GY G670s (295/80R22.5) have been doing fine. Some Michelins, however, have been cracking along side wall in two years.

I'd say anywhere from 450 to 650 each...depending upon brands. If you are a FMCA member (or become one soon) they have a member discount that will cut off several hundred off the total price.

Toyo, Yokohama, Hankook...are some cheaper brands but a lot of people swear by them. Stay away from Goodyear G670s. Most of us agree that Michelins are probably the best you can get, but they're also the most expensive.
