30 / 50 amp service

I have a 2006 Holiday Rambler Ambassador. Last night, my 30/50 amp service stopped working. I checked the breakers in the coach and at the campground R2D2, and none were tripped. I stepped down my power cord with adaptors and reduced it to 110, I have power at that level. but I still cannot get the 30/50 to come on. The energy management system does not show any power.

I have tried to reset the inverter, just to see if it would help, negative results, the 110 works fine, but nothing on the high side.

Is there a separate fuse or breaker that I may be missing. Any help would be appreciated.

  • How did you check your circuit breakers?
I would suggest turning them all off applying light pressure toward off, then turn the main breaker on, then turn on the branch breakers one at a time. Breakers can look alright but have tripped internally.
Many transfer switches have two coils to operate either from shore power or the genset. I doubt it is the transfer switch if it fails in both modes.
  • If it jusdt stopped while power was present and not interupted I would suspect the solenoid coil in the transfer switch failed.
  • Sound like it may be the transfer switch. I would try tappinjg on the housing of the switch, but it may need replacing.
  • Hi Lug_Nut,

Still helping me out, thanks. I checked withn the gen set, same results, no 30/50 amp indicated at the panel. No 30/50 amp service to coach.
  • If the generator fails to power your coach, you have a bad transfer switch, or the energy management system is sensing something wrong at the power pedestal.
