rgatijnet1: Maybe you misunderstood me. I wasn't advocating for either. To the casual observer the general perception is that diesels do better on hill climbs. The drag racing community generally equates quarter mile speed results with horsepower and elapsed time results with torque. As one that had a 454 chevy-powered 30' motorhome that would struggle mightily trying to get up a long grade I would be curious to see how these closely matched units would do in a climbing situation. Perhaps the advent of the modern gasoline engines have eliminated the advantage the diesel engines appeared to have in this application.
