After 8 years in a 35' MH (with 2 big slides), I wouldn't want bigger. There's plenty of living and storage space for the 2 of us. That includes a 2 month trip to Alaska with everything from swim suits to winter wear (and fishing equipment). Besides space in campgrounds, I have no problems driving our MH through downtown areas or getting in and out of gas stations.
I don't know what floor plans and features you want, but I find it hard to believe that the new MH's with full wall slides can't provide the features in a 35-36' MH.
