4 corner scales in Florida

I will be traveling the I-4 corridor from Tampa to Daytona, then I-95 up through Savannah. Does anyone know of a scale that will measure all 4 corners of my motor home along that route.
  • Put one axle at a time on the scale using the drive and trailer platforms to split the axle. In other words drive up at a 90 to the scale. Then after the initial weight split the rear axle for a reweigh. Any truck stop should be able to weigh you.
  • Not sure how far it is out of your way, but the SKP park in Bushnell Fl has the 4 wheel scale. We did it at the SKP Park in Congress, Az, and we were pretty impressed.

  • We used the SKP (Sumter Oaks) last year. It is a Escapee's campground as well. Call and if they have sites available you can spend the night and have it weighed the next day.
  • Not really sure how 1 side can be much heavier than the other. Is it that important? Axle wt divided by 2.

Slide-outs are very heavy. You can only guess when you load your motorhome that the load is balanced.
  • Quite often the CAT scales at truck stops have a level area right beside the scale with no guard rail. If so then drive on the scale with the right side tires OFF the scale on the apron are, and the front and rear axle on different platforms and get a weigh. Then pull the whole coach on the scale with front and rear axles on different platforms. Then do the math for your 4 corner weigh.

I went to Sumter Oaks last week to have my coach weighed. Al did all 3 axles ( Steer,Drive and Tag ), each side. It took about 20 minutes or so and it's $45.
From I 4 is about 45 miles north on I 75 and about 1/2 mile from the exit.

You should be able to do so at the station next to Lazydays at exit 10 in Seffner, but why bother? I just add 10 - 15psi for a cushion and for taking care of all the variables along the way, including side to side differences. Always worked for us and can't imagine trying to air up tires to exactly what's on the inflation charts. First morning with a different ambient temp. would change that and just for an example.
Also use the the truck scales along the interstates and other highways and have never found them not happy with weighing you, free of charge. Just best, if you don't bother them when they're busy with a lot of traffic, is all.
