In my case, I had to remove a drawer, a cabinet side panel and also pull the breaker panel out of its mounting frame to access the main ground (wire nut) connection behind that was intermittent. I never saw a burned or browned wire. I was able to cut and strip enough to make a good ground connection and that fixed mine. I'm sure you know but.. UNPLUG when doing all of this. Best of luck.
Good to know. You will never see an over heated connection as long as the conductors involved never pass a significant amount of current. These capacitive coupled leakage currents are in the order of being less then 5 MilliAmps (0.005 Amps) so then will not even trip a GFCI (if a GFCI were to be involved).
