50 amp surge protectors

Looking for a surge protector, any recommendations for the best.

  • Progressive is great. I had one for years and it failed. They replaced it with a new unit free....can't beat that!
  • Consider a Hughes Autoformer. It will fix low voltage in a lot of cases, and offers the same level of surge protection and the other features.
  • Had problem with my Progressive unit, notified them and they were all over themselves getting me a replacement. They make a great product and stand behind it. Kinda unusual nowadays..........
  • Don't be lured by a cheap price or good deal on a surge protector. You need more than a surge protector. Look at the EMS unit everyone above has suggested, either hard wired or portable. You will pay a lot more but you will be fully protected. Progressive Industries EMS is what you should look at first.

X2 on PI. I prefer the HW50C with the remote. You do have to run the data cable to the remote.

Thanks for the info. What 50 portable unit surge protector would recommend. I would like a protector that shows the lights clearly and that are easy to read.
