6 volt battery tenders?

I am tired of my 6 volts freezing in the winter and would like to put a tender(s) on them if possible.

Does anyone make them?
  • Use a 12 volt Battery Tender brand charger. Get a Trik-L-Start combiner if you chassis battery does not already charge from the converter.

Fully charged lowers the freezing point to about -90F

learn something new every day ! thanks !
i guess all those years in cold climates i got lucky and never had a discharged battery.

  • how will a battery tender (charge maintainer) prevent a battery from freezing ??
Ive used battery minder/tenders for year and am not aware of them having any capability of "heating" a battery to prevent freezing (as the OP says he's looking for).

Consider the following statement, Then I will explain it, and then I will answer your question:

1: There are NO SIX VOLT BATTERIES in RV, only 12 volts.

2: For ease of handling and some other reasons (Cost) some of those 12 volt batteries are 2-piece units (Each piece is six volt).

    3: Yes

Just hook the six volt pairs in series, as they are when in use, and you have an instant 12 volt battery, Every auto store from here to there and back again including Batteries Plus stores and many department stores sells 12 volt battery tenders.

And your 12 volt bat-t-ery will work just fine with one (That is a 12 volt battery split into two pieces with a jumper cable in the middle)
  • Your sixes are wired as 12's
Any 12v battery tender/minder will do the job
  • Assuming you're running you 6V batteries in series (12V) like everyone else any 12V maintainer would work.
