This is true in a no wind condition. Between Van Horn, Tx. and Elpaso I encountered 35 to 50 mph headwinds and got 4.8 mpg. Normally get around 8 mpg at 65 mph. Don't think you can set up a gear ratio or a perfect rpm for those conditions.
