That also happens to be the maximum speed my everyday driver vehicle, Ford Fusion Hybrid, can run in EV mode (electric vehicle mode). You get incredible mileage if you can keep it to that speed or lower.
Every day, for my 26 mile commute to work, I set the cruise control at 62 mph, so it can run in EV mode as much as possible. If I can keep it to 62 or less to utilize EV mode, it'll average 48-49 mpg pretty easily. In a few rare cases, it went up over 50 (average, for a 26 mile drive).
Yes, indeed, 62 be very good for mpg for us. :)
