Next October you can log into channel 13 Albuquerque... KRQE.com and see their live broadcast of the balloon fest each morning.
One morning there was a 1.5hr delay because of the wind being too brisk before the commercial (passenger carrying balloons) we allowed to lift off. Most of the private balloons stayed on the ground that day. Even though we overlooked the field, it was nice sipping coffee in the heated MH seeing what was not happening on the TV until it finally happened. The second balloon picture above was taken off the TV.
This picture was snagged from their helicopter view. These are the 15 passenger balloons inflating.
