70's Travelcraft Fridge works w/electric but not propane

Checked that the fridge was working the night before our trip-via electric. Worked fine, everything cold. Frost in the freezer. All A-OK. When we got to our camping site (rustic) we were relying on the propane. Realized the fridge not working on propane for some reason (never had this problem before).

The pilot light IS lit. The RV is level. It works on electric, but not on propane.

We want to be able to use our fridge on our rustic trip at Sleeping Bear. The pilot light is fine. Not weaker than normal. Not flickering. Could this be a debris problem somewhere? We have an air compressor. Should be blow out lines or something?

Once there, please state Make, Year, Model of the Fridge, at least as much of this info as available to you.
If it has Electronic Ignition, there's no "Pilot Flame." That little flame does all the heating that circulates the ammonia refrigerant to provide cooling. Website BryantRV.com has a lot of service manuals, even for older appliances.
  • Be Bold, Disassemble and clean the burner. Pay close attention to the orifice. Do not use anything hard to clean it. If you damage it, it can burn your camper down.

Have a good time at the Dunes.

  • Thanks everyone.

Quick Update. Disassembled the burner, etc. Lots of Debris. Everything blown out with the air compressor and vacuumed. Adjusted the flame direction very slightly. It is getting cold-but it's only been a few hours. We'll check it in the morning. Crossing our fingers.

If it isn't fixed I'll update with all the model info. thanks also for the Bryant site info. Never knew how Gas refrigerators worked. Now I do.
