Took another look today. Removed the fill pipe to the tank and checked with a flashlight. Got at least half a tank of gas so the the gauge is good. I can see the sending unit but no pump in the tank as far as I can tell. Went up to the engine to remove the pump on the block. Started to remove the metal line and fuel started to drip out so I guess it's getting fuel to the pump but the pump isn't strong enough to push gas up to the carb. If I remove the line, will I dump 40 gallons on the ground? Guess I could pinch off the rubber hose first. Anyway, ordered a new pump from RockAuto and will post an update.
