Hello, does anyone know what the 30' one had for a chassis and what to look for? I've searched some and it seems it could be a g.m. p-30 or a john deer totally new to r.v's. how would one tell one...

Yeah, Brett it sounds like the OP hasn't seen it yet. One or more of the digits in the VIN will ID the chassis mfg. See if you can get the owner to read you the VIN. There are several web sites that decode the VIN.

I have also run across a Ford chassis with the GM Vortec engine in it, but that probably wasn't an option on 1989.
the vortec big block was mid 90's iirc..
