We bought the 97 40 ft american eagle evs today will pick up tomorrow.
Hope we did right. Time will tell. We noticed that the abs light stayed on. After looking at manual on line tonigt we understand it should have gone off. Any advice.

What could this mean? hope nothing serious or expensive.Any help is appreciated we are new to this .This our first MH.
Tents are not so comlicated. Well sometimes.
  • thank you all very much for your help.
We picked up our eagle today.
Very exciting, We were ready to drive away when Marty my hubby thought it would be good to check the wipers since it looked like it may rain. They did not work we thought. ,Here we go.
Because of the age it was bought as is.
But the dealer was wonderful they spent 2 + hours figuring it out. all went well.
That was at North trail rv in Ft Myers fl
    Thanks guys.
You so far have done good by us.
  • Congratulations!

Feel free to PM me anytime as our coaches are basically identical and we are going on year 6.

What color and interior do you have?
  • As was said above the ABS light is probably a sensor related issue. These can sometimes be hard to find and/or correct. In our 2000 American Tradition we had the same problem. After two efforts to correct it, Is gave up, unplugged the little light in the dash and never worried about it again. The brakes work fine, and I would have a really tough time locking up the wheels on our motorhome anyway.

Hope you enjoy the Eagle. As others have said, that is a first class motorhome.

  • You might want to follow this blogger
Greg and Jan at Our RV Adventures. He also has an American Eagle and knows a lot about them. If all else fails, send him a Comment and ask him what could be wrong with yours. He's a good guy and would probably give pointers on what the problem could be. Good luck.

I'm happy for y'all. Hope you have many, many years enjoying your Eagle.

  • Congratulations, That's a first Class coach. Could be an ABS sensor, this should not affect breaking other than no ABS maybe. I had this happen and it was an unplugged wire on a sensor. Get it checked first and in writing if it's not done before delivery. Enjoy.
