I also have an A&E 8500 awning. Manual. If I ever buy another motorhome I would do whatever it takes NOT to get a motorized awning.
I've seen their wind sensor fail....disaster, and they are so high one cannot lower them to, say, put patio lights on them....and read here at the forum the problems people have with them.
Having owned 2 TT and 1 motorhome...all having A&E manual awnings, I must say they are bulletproof.
