Just a thought. I used to fly aircraft. There is a preflight inspection required before every flight which includes looking at the prop, checking the oil, looking inside the engine compartment, window, pitot tube, wing area, control surfaces, tires, landing gear, light inspection, fuselage, etc. Ever before thinking of starting the engine.
And before turning the key there is a checklist, and a checklist after you start the engine, and a checklist before you even think of heading down the runway.
Now in retrospect some people just don't give a second thought about the proper things to "inspect" before heading down the road in a MH. Do you check your tire pressure everytime? Do you look into the engine bay for leaks, birds nests, animals? Check lights, oil, coolant levels? Etc.etc,. I can say I was always comfortable pulling back the yoke at full power in any plane I flew and that I did everything I could to insure a safe trip.
I can also say I don't feel at all that comfortable driving down the road on our highways and IMHO is less safer than flying a plane. All I can do is make sure I've covered all my bases. I check under the MH before every trip, this post will be in the back of my mind during my pre-trip inspection from now on. There are strange people on the road, and yes, in campgrounds too.
