All, Thought I would post a thought I had that goes against what everybody does: Conventional wisdom and recommendations say to change your oil after you have brought the engine up to temperatur...

Cute video. And, what you would expect with a light viscosity (5-20) synthetic oil.
Wonder if the results would be the same for a diesel with dino 15-40 like the very widely used Shell Rotella T 15-40 or Delo 400 15-40.
Suspect I will continue as I have done all my life-- remove drain plug HOT and let it drain for half an hour, changing filter when cool enough to do so without burning myself.
Do agree that the lighter the oil viscosity the less difference it would make. So, maybe it is just making me happy and not making a big difference to the engine. OK by me.
