It's a non-issue. Hot, warm, or cold, it doesn't matter. Just use a quality detergent oil, like most oils these days. You're going to get the same amount of oil and particulates cold or hot, the filter comes off the same cold or hot, and shouldn't be any sludge left behind, cold or hot drain.
