I hear ya, we just sold our Class A / tow car this summer. Heading south this fall we hotel'ed it. We had wonderful suit hotels for anywhere between 50-75 dollars. It did take research to find them, but then again so did finding good RV parks.
What I did find out is we missed the freedom of RV'ing. The ability to just pull off and spend as long as we wanted in a place. Hotel mode was rushing so as to limit costs.
Current plan is to pick up a small 5'ver with slide and hotel every few days or when needed. Class B's seem way too much $$ for what you get. With a C I'm tired of having a whole drive train that I have to maintain, yet which gets used so little. A slide in camper is just too small as is a van camper.
That leaves a TT or small 5'ver. Seems like a TT is a bear to pull long distances from those I talk too.
