ABS light on and left front tire brake very hot

I have a 2011 Ford F-53 chassis. While driving today my ABS light came on and when I started to stop I could feel a "thud/thump" don't really know how to describe it. It did it again when I took off....

My guess would be a caliper problem! And if your traveling downhill and apply the brakes hard frequently this will cause the brakes to overheat and burn the ABS sensor up. This can happen quickly even when you think you were not riding the brakes hard.
