AC Fan

I had been using both AC fans just the fan not the AC for a couple days when I went to turn the front AC fan on it just hums and the fan dose not turn on dose anyone know what I should look for on this problem??
  • I would go on the roof and check and see if the blower will turn freely. Make sure the breaker is off.
  • If you have not service it (oil) that could be it or a start cap. Time to climb up.

Probably the start cap has failed.

    Suspect #1 that is

    Seized shaft
Insect/bird next in fan/blower assembly jaming it

    And that about covers it,
  • The fan in my 1999 Winnebago Chieftain would do the same thing, as well as shriek sometimes. Removing the cover and spraying some lube into the motor would free it up and work for a time. Did this many times over the last 2 years. It finally froze up and wouldn't restart. Copied the Manufacturer name and model # off the ID plate on the motor. Found a new one on Amazon. Replaced it. Now it runs like a champ. Should have done it 2 years ago.
BTW, I had Camping World check it on my maiden voyage. They estimated about $1200. Turned them down. The motor I needed was only $179 on Amazon.
  • Would like to thank all of you for your response they were all good thing to check out Thanks again.
