AC in hot days

"I run the generator to keep it going down the road." Pretty hard to keep in the shade at 60 mph and please do not put foil insulation over the windshield "going down the road." Clean the filters.
What is the difference of the temp of the air in and the air out?

I have read a lot of complaints over the years about basement air from it not cooling,loss of a storage bay,$$$ to fix,noisy. I was wondering on basement air does the ac come up through floor vents or out of the ceiling? That could be a huge problem if the ac is being blown up through floor. I haven't seen any new coaches advertising basement air.

Seriously Run all the A/C you have, and re-read what BGUM posted above. That's the only thing that works.

If you are parked there are add on pre-conditioenrs or so I'm told but you may not have enough power to run 'em and they only work parked.

also I know some folks who have invested 5 or 6 hundred on a VENTED Portable to add more BTUs of cooling (I can see one from here) or even a WINDOW Unit (did that in my trailers, as has the person beside me) Which are much cheaper (Do not know why that is) BUT. basically you are doing well if you can drop inside temp 10 degrees..

And what's worswe with a high today expectd in the 90's.. One of my Air Conditioenrs is kaput.. Replacement is in but the mounting kit they sent was wrong. Been 3 weeks now.. I told the local tech to tell his supplier I am royally pissed and want a SERIOUS discount. (I'm just not mad at him is all, but his supplier).

We start cooling are coach down early about 8 AM when were in the Southwest. We open all the doors and windows until it starts to heat up with both fantastic fans on. We use a chrome type Sun reflector on all windows on the sunny side of the coach. We put our awning out. I used water my first year to cool down the coach which worked but after the first time I stopped due to big ugly hard water spots. Also I use winter pipe insulation on my windshield wipers my first year in the SW the blades melted onto the windshield. I would also wet the ground down around the coach to stop radiating heat which helped. I would not do that now do to the water shortage in the SW.

I searched for a long time in hopes of finding something to help with my fiver windows.

Never found anything that looked good or did the trick. So after lots of frustration, I measured every window, made frames, covered frames with solar screening and mounted them on the interior window frames up under the metal blinds and secured the bottoms with screen clip which screws into the window frame.

Easy enough to see out, does a terrific job of keeping sun and heat out and when we want to take em down, we just turn bottom clips and they slide down for easy storage behind sofa.

I am a big fan of Reflectix for winter and summer...

Trees, big trees.

While driving, we keep the day night shades closed on the night shades to prevent too much sun coming in. We also run the AC pretty low while driving.

When parked, we use RV Quick Shades which we have on the windshield and side windows for the pilot and co-pilot. The RV Quick Shades are one of the best investments for our coach!

is this a NEW problem ?

check all the A/C filters and all the duct work
clean or replace filters
make sure there are no leaks in the duct work,
no problems with return air, you want the interior air to be returned to the A/C
Not exterior hot air being drawn in
basement air has more places to check than roof air

sure...

1). if you have slides bring them in during the day. less sq ft to cool means more efficient cooling.

2). get a couple of fans and move the air around.

3). if you have a MH get thee to a big box store a get a roll or two of reflective window foil and cut a piece to fit the inside of the windshield. the windshield acts as a radiator pumping heat into the RV. this will darken the interior but the inside temp will drop 10-15 degrees within 30-minutes.
