AC Shedding

Bought a 2007 Terra LX 31M, going through all the bells and whistles, lot of little fixes. Can't figure out from the manual why the front ac sheds. If I just turn on the front AC, it just sheds, but if I turn on both, they will come on and I can turn off the rear and the front seem to work fine. Man, there is a lot of systems compared to our old 94 tioga class C. Going up 395 form So Cal next Monday (if the dealer fixes the one water leak and awning as promised). Plan to dry camp for a few days at Tuttle creek and fish, then who knows where.

Thanks.

    What does "sheds" mean?

The system "sheds" power if it detects lack of amperage to run, or so I am led to believe.

The ECC system will shed (remove power from) one of the A/C compressors if it detects that the coach is drawing more than 30amps through the main breaker. If the power draw remains above 30amps it will shed the other compressor. When the draw drops below 30amps, the system will allow the units to attempt to restart.

When running from the generator, the FRONT A/C unit is fed from the 20amp output of the generator and the REAR A/C is fed (along with all other circuits) from the 30amp gen output, through the main breaker.

It's not unusual for the ECC controller to temporarily get confused under generator operation as the controller is getting it's ac-volts from the 30amp output and the front A/C compressor is getting it's ac-volts from the 20amp output.

If you leave just the front a/c on you should find it will settle in and stop the shed.
We have a Southwind and when we turn the front a/c on it will shed for a little bit and then the green light comes on.
If you are in park that has 30amp, when the a/c first come on it draws max and the energy mangement system will wait until things stablilize.

I let it go for 10 minutes and it was still in shed mode, so I turned on the rear ac and they both toggled to shed and normal a few times and both started up. At this point I turned off the rear ac and the front continued to run fine. I'm new with this so was wondering if this is normal? Thanks

Should have mentioned this is on Generator power.
