AC Vent Blowing Out Bits of Foam

I have a 2007 Winnebago Voyage on the Workhorse frame. Recently the dash AC blew out bits of decaying foam rubber. Any ideas?? Is there a cabin air filter?

  • Mouse gets in duct, chews it,or builds a nest and it blows out when a/c starts
  • Send me a PM and I'll email you the manuals for the 2 most common RV dash A/C units. Might help you figure what's happening.
  • Have seen reports of the fan in the overhead AC unit chewing up bits of insulation that came loose around the fan.....
  • On my WH W20 chassis there was no cabin filter. The ducts themselves were plastic around a spring type winding for support. There was no foam anywhere in the duct system. Perhaps a small piece of foam got in to the system during construction that is now finally coming apart and blowing out of the system. If the airflow is OK at all of your vents I would assume that your ducts are OK and just wait for the last of the foam to be blown out.
I am not sure if there is any foam on the inside of your evaporator coil/heater box but I doubt if there is something that could not handle the water from the cooling coils and the heat from the heater coils.
