Accumulator tank pressure

I always run maximum sidewall pressure.

Joking aside, you want the pressure to be under or the same as the pump cut off. You want the pump to build a little pressure in the tank.

Setting the pressure too high means the pump cuts out before filling the tank.

Recommend for stick homes is 2 lb. below turn on. I do the same for our mh.

I think mine has a label stating what pressure should be in there. I think it was 25 psi.

Should be a manual with it.

Suspect the OP is talking about an accumulator on their potable water system.

If so, set to 2 PSI below cut-in PSI for your pump. Many are 25 PSI cut-in, so 23 PSI with shore water off, pump off and pressure bled off.

mine is at 20 psi before the pump starts.

Mine is set to 28 psi but it does leak down over time and I need to pump it back up a couple of times a year

I installed our accumulator tank 10 years ago. I seem to recall debating on 15 or 20 psi and decided to go in between. Whatever I set it to, it was right. The accumulator tank on our particular rig is real nice to have. The plumbing operates more like home and the pump runs so quiet too because the accumulator dampened the vibration from the pump.

So, what is the advantage of an accumulator tank?
