The little SHURflo tank is little to fit in small spaces. SHURflo also makes 2 gallon and 6 gallon accumulator tanks.

It will stop the pulsating shower/tap, but won't let you flush the toilet all night without the pump coming on. Since our pump is directly under the bed, that was important to us. The 2 gallon tank is small enough, and will get both of us through the night's bathroom trips without the pump.

Here is a photo of my 2 gallon accumulator tank under the kitchen sink of my 2007 Winnebago Outlook. You can see the bypass valve going to a short piece of Pex with a shut-off valve and cap. What you can't see behind the cabinet framing is the "T" where I tied into the cold water line. The white strap around the tank is a Velcro tape that is screwed down on the floor of the shelf it is sitting on. I have 20 pounds of air pressure in it.

Bobbo, I have thought of adding an accumulator tank to my 2007 Outlook also, but wondered where you mounted yours? I don't see an area large enough. Did you go into the area next to the kitchen sink? Thanks for any information.

I put a 2 gallon accumulator tank in my MH years ago. I will never have a MH without one again. It solves a LOT of irritations with the water system such as faucet/shower pulsing and pump activation at night when flushing and DW forgetting to turn on the water during the day before going into the toilet. I second the idea of a shut off for winterizing. I used a bypass valve to a short piece of pex that I then put a shutoff on and capped. When winterizing, I turn the bypass valve so the water goes to the short pex, then I remove the cap and open the valve to flush antifreeze through that line too.

I used this tank.

I installed one similar to what BurbMan did and we’ve appreciated it most at night when the pump doesn’t run every time the toilet is flushed or someone runs water.

I agree it's nice to be able to use the toilet or get a glass of water quietly at night without the pump running every time you open a faucet.

If you do install one, remember to put a shut off so you can bypass it for winterizing purposes like you do with the water heater.

Here's how I did mine:





The tank just tees into the water line after the pump, with a shut off just before it, so once the system is depressurized you can isolate the tank for winterizing.

Be sure to get a tank that is specifically designated for "potable water". They also make less expensive ones for HW hesting systems, the difference is in the rubber bladder inside.

Don't use an accumulator tank with the sensor, it wont work right and your just wasting the "sensor" part.
