Acrylic Slide Topper? What do you think? Worth it?

I'm thinking of replacing a worn vinyl slide topper with an acrylic slide topper. What do you think? Is it worth the extra dollars? Does it last longer?

Thanks in advance for your thought.

  • Don't know the answer to your question, but I know a guy that replaced his with sunbrella material. Don't know about this either but he thinks it will last much longer than original material.
  • If you can get one made of Sunbrella it will outlast most any other material. I have had all my boat covers made with Sunbrella for many years and 10 years in the hot Florida sun hardly affects them. I can imagine 20 plus years if it were used on an RV. Amazing stuff.
  • Contact Chris at Stonevos.com. He will make slide toppers from your measurements from a very durable Sunbrella-like acrylic material from Sattler. Check his website for the specifics of why he selected the particular material he uses. He can match any color and double stitches all seams.
  • Acrylic materials will hold up better to UV light.

It costs more but will last much longer.
  • My patio awning and 4 window awnings are acrylic. The were installed in 1997. The cloth is still flawless. I think acrylic is a good investment.

X2 on this post. Current production of Sunbrella fabric and the thread the toppers are stitched with will fail in just a very few years.

Chris uses the best fabrics and thread and his toppers are very well made. Chris is also a coach owner.
