- DrewEExplorer III added a safe to my motorhome. It's a cheap Harbor Freight safe. This is of course not for high-security storage: more along the lines of keeping the s'mores chocolate protected from pilfering than of keeping the crown jewels safe from a ring of international thieves.
The best spot I found was an unoccupied corner under the rear bed. Basically, it's just screwed down to some sleepers that are screwed to the floor. (Most of the space under the bed is taken up with the fresh water tank and associated plumbing and gadgetry.) - mustang652ExplorerMy current neighbor, a single guy, has a full size gunsafe bolted through the floor of the "Toy" storage area of his 5th wheel. I have one of the reinforced fire resistant letter file safes under one of the seats of the booth dining table, which is currently relegated for importand documents like DD214 and veicle title and/or registration information. Wish I could get it bolted to the floor, but where it's located, bolting cold end up going into the storge bin. If I could figure out how to do it, I'd buy a second one to store my extra handguns until we get to our next location and I can get my safe out of storage.
- John___AngelaExplorerI would think many have a safe not so much for anti theft but for fire protection. Our local safe guy has done installs for people with this in mind. Check with a safe guy and explain your objectives.
Good Luck. - 1BryNelsonExplorerVery wise words msmith1199.
- msmith1199Explorer IINot always a good idea to put photos of your safe on here unless you're posting under completely anonymous info.
- DanTheRVManExplorerWhat are you trying to protect?
Gun laws may require a lock
My money is not in the freezer where thieves will look. But try finding my cash.
A safe is a target relatively easy to break in to.
A safe may not be safe. :B
