The model on the receiver is SIR S300W. I went into the setup, slected dish type round (there was no option for 18" - just round), I made sure the zip code was correct. I did not see anything that said multi switch setting. Turned the dish on, I could hear it "sweeping" but again finding satellites failed. Usually when it finds it and downloads the data I can hear the dome making sort of a spinning noise. I haven't heard that in a while. I called the dealer and I was wrong or perhaps mis heard. They did not do anything mechanical. Not sure what to do at this point.
