Adjusting winegard roadtrip in motion

I'm a Dish Network subscriber with an older Winegard in motion dish on the roof and and a Winegard Carryout and ran into a similar problem this past summer that turnout to be the receiver. The antennas would search and search and search but never lock in on any satellites. Either the RF from the receiver was attenuated or the digital commands were the problem. Don't know which but a replacement receiver off eBay fixed it. The reciever cost less than 1 hour of labor at a service center.

I've had my dome open with both antennas several times just to check out what is in there and what the antenna does during a search. If there's something that can be adjusted I didn't see it.
