3. Extended "warranties" are really insurance policies that are very carefully written to exclude many common repairs. You should read the policy, not the sales brochure.
4. You should never buy insurance to cover anything you can afford to replace. Therefore, if you can afford a typical repair, you should not buy a policy.
5. These extended "warranty" companies, not being regulated, often conveniently go out of business after collecting lots of premium money without paying out many claims.
