The extended warranty company that I had (FCPP) insisted on using second-hand parts to do repairs. For example, I needed the ECM replaced ($1150). They found a used one from a wreck for $75.00. Said if I wanted a new one, I would have to pay the difference! Read the contract fine print very carefully! I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on these scams. As mentioned, start a rainy day fund, and go that route.
