You and lots of people want protection.
But as previously stated it is a service contract not a warranty. Most states do not even regulate these service contracts so good luck if you have issues.
You have identified several loop holes or ridiculous restrictions in the contract which would indicate you are about to be taken, yet you still want protection. You have figured out these contracts are written to collect fees not provide protection.
So are you going to do the emotional thing and buy phony "peace of mind" or use your good intellectual skills and run away?
